What if I told you that what we actually do in improv is direct & harness energy? What if I told you that you can manifest your thoughts into becoming physical reality? What if I told you that the objects & environments you want to create on stage are already there? These are the things I'm going to tell you & invite you into doing in this workshop. WILL YOU BELIEVE?
Bio: Jose Gonzalez teaches, directs, and performs longform improv comedy & theatre in Phoenix at The Torch Theatre, a theatre he co-founded in 2007. He got his start in acting, performance, & movement in 1998 and has focused on improv since October 2001, studying under awesome & inspiring teachers like Joe Bill (Annoyance Theater, Bassprov, iO Chicago), Craig Cackowski (iO Chicago/West, Second City, NBC’s Community), and Susan Messing (Annoyance Theater, Second City, iO). As a performer & teacher, Jose has traveled with Galapagos, Dangerville, ABC, Umlautilde, Mariachi Kittens, and other projects all over North America (Chicago, Austin, New York, Honolulu, Toronto, and many more) and parts of Europe (Amsterdam, Dublin, London, Reykjavik). He’s also improvised in everything from a nearly-solo musical with a pie to all-star festival shows that were way too big but a lot of fun.
